Goodies from SP & Company!

In my last post I talked about how my Project Life supplies are pretty much non exisistent right now. I realized this is a good thing because now that I am new to PL, I need (and can't wait!) to accumulate my PL stash!!! I think that having a variety of creative options is half the fun of creating your pages! So I am sharing what I got!

I ordered some pretty things from SP and Company:

Echo Park Paper Company, Here & Now by Lori Whitlock. Alpha stickers.

Have a great rest of your week!

Ice & the Grammys

Howdy yall!  How has your week been?
I hope you found some time to get crafty! I am posting this blog as I am watching
the Grammy's...holy smokes Pink had an awesome performance!

Today I am sharing my Week 2 Project Life progress. It is my second week in the 2014 binder but I chose to call it Week One on my page because the photos are from Dec 30 - Jan 5.  I am a little behind, (like reallly behind!) more than I'd like because I am a little scarce on supplies. I have ordered several items online--which I can't wait to get and share with you! I have been using materials and scraps that I've had in my stash forever. I have a few 4x6 journal cards and a few 2x3 journal cards that are different brands, collections, and color schemes. So it's been hard to make everything color coordiante, but I'm happy with what I've done so far.

Did the winter storm visit you? Since it only gets icy here a few times a year, I couldn't miss the opportunity to capture a few photos for my Project Life scrapbook!
So far I am taking all of my photos on my Windows 8 phone, because it is practically glued to me! For special events I plan on taking photos with my digital SLR. I don't pull my Canon out enough! What kind of camera do yall use to take photos for your Project Life photos?

I'm linking up again with SP and sharing my progress! If you are creating Project Life pages and want to share, join us by clicking below! There is a ton of inspiration out there!

As Becky Higgins says... "Cultivate a good life and record it!"
I will get back with yall and post my goodies that I purchased!
If you're not Project Life-ing, why don't you start!

Happy to be back!

Today I decided that I wanted to get back into the blogging world. So I created this blog and I can't believe how easy peasy it was!

My intent is to keep it light hearted and share some of the crafty things I am doing! Also I am hoping to motivate the other people in my life to finally start their own blog! Ahem....Mason and his ahead-of-the-curve sports knowledge, movie and tabletop game reviews, as well as his funny humor. And my Mom who is a creative-DIY-genius who has already taken a blogging class but still hasn't done it... they may need a push!

New year, new job, new town, new house...a new blog!

My knitting & crochet love has taken a back seat recently because my current crafty passion is Project Life! It is a "pocket style" of scrapbooking which allows you to document your life and photos without having to design the layout. The 12x12 page protecters are divided into numerous 4x6 and 2x3 pockets. Photos and journaling cards easily slide into place. I am going to do one page a week or maybe 2 pages if it is a busy week. Becky Higgins owns the Project Life products line but there are other companies out there as well. Check out more about the Becky Higgins PL concept here.

Samantha Peyton from SP and Company inspired me to do PL with her and also to start a blog. She has some awesome videos and tips on her blog here. Visit her store to pick up some crafty goodies here. I just ordered one of her mystery boxes and can't wait to get it!

Project Life Progress:
I wanted to include some things that happened at the end of 2013 before I started project life-ing for 2014. November was a busy month....birthdays/Thanksgiving celebration rolled into one. My parents live in CO so Nana & I met them halfway in Lubbock where my sister is going to college at Texas Tech. She is graduating in May I am so proud of her! I had to make a page of that visit  and then of course December...which was busy because we moved, I started my new job and Christmas!

I am linking up with other Project Life-rs on the SP blog to share my progress, get ideas, and share some PL love! Check out other Week 1 layouts here.

This is my Project Life binder I am using!! Its chevron YaY! I got it at Michaels and used my 40% off coupon on it so I think it was around $11.00

Here is my "Wrapping up 2013" page. The journaling cards were on clearance at Target for $1.99 in the scrapbook area. It is the We R Memory Keepers brand.

My "December" page with photos of my new job, new place decorated all Christmas-ey and my grandparents getting their plate of delicousness! This was my first time hosting Christmas at my house, I cooked! It wasn't Martha Stewart perfect, but it was my kind of perfect.

This is a china hutch that I've been working on. Mason and I have both worked on it up to this point. It was a light oak color that we stained and I wanted to paint it white. I got it from one of my coworkers and my dream was to paint it new and make it shabby chic! It has been sitting in our garage half complete until we moved and brought it with us! I am painting it a little here and there. It is much nicer painting it inside the house! The garage had bad lighting and it was sticky in the summer! After all the white coats of paint I am going to sand it down and make it look aged. Then I can't wait to add the pretty fixtures we bought at hobby lobby and show you a finished product! This will eventually hold some of my crafty supplies...because our man-cave/craft room has become a man-cave only room, I am stuck with my craft desk and supplies in the living area...for now!

That is all for now, I hope yall have a lovely, crafty week!
