On a roll...Weeks 16 - 20

Here are my most recent pages that I've completed. The best part was getting them all done in one day. I find that I work better when I let 4 or 5 weeks pile up so that I can't remember what happenned. NOT! It was hard because I didn't journal much for weeks 16, 17, & 18 so those weeks just got one page. I think its more simple that way, but I'm missing out on the details! So to my future self: use my PL journal (the super cute one I got on Etsy) and write a recap of every day. That way I've got more things to journal about! This was me at the start... should've taken a pic of it at the end! It was so clean LOL.

Also, I finally found an app for Windows 8 phone users that really helped me create the 3x4 sized photos. I made a collage with 2 photos on a 4x6. Super easy, I will share a step by step on how to do that in my next blog.

Week 20 (Gossamer Blue)
Lots of LO's for this week, my sister graduated college and my grandparents and I went on a road trip to get there! Tons of photos! I took all of these with my phone. I still have at least 2 more LO's for my sister's grad pictures, just waiting to get them from my Mom because we took some on the digital camera.

Speedy read and my Secret Sis

Good morning yall! My goal was to get some Project Life done on my time off from work which I did, Yay! ...and also started and finished a book in 2 days which I have never done, ever!! Of course I've read books, just not like a speedy gonzales. It is the book based on the movie Divergent, written by Veronica Roth. It is a triology (I love trilogies!) and so I am very anxious to read the next two! I wasn't interested in the movie at all, I thought it was another 'Hunger Games type' but I loved the book! Highly recommend it, folks! And can't wait to see the movie now!!

I mentioned last time that I participate in a Secret Sister Swap on Facebook. It is so fun! We got paired up anonymously by the admins and they had us answer a questionnaire when we started to get an idea of what our SS's style is and what she likes. It is for a 3 month period with a minimum of $15 for each package. We will reveal ourselves the last month! It is really neat seeing my SS share her photos of the package I sent her on fb and seeing how excited she is! My SS did so good! I love everything, thank you SS!!  I promised pics of my first package from her, so here ya go!

I got week 9 and 10 done, still have to do 11 and 12. It has been a few weeks (almost a month!) since I sat down and really pumped out some pages so I felt a little slower starting out. My creative juices started flowing finally! Embellishments are from FF and a few from my Secret Sister!

I love the pic of Ollie that I did. She was originally in the back of the truck with a maintenance van in the
back. I cut her out, added some stamps and viola!!

Love the navy thickers from Studio Calico's Office Hours kit this month!

So that is all I have for you this time, I'm going to crank out some more layouts before I go back to work tomorrow. Now go read Veronica Roth's Divergent!

Have a marvelous day!!

Quick hello!

I feel like a blog post is overdue, and I just wanted to say hello since I haven't posted in awhile! Got back from Lubbock, went to Houston for a day, and now I am working my 7 on schedule right now. I am well spent after work so I don't think I'll be doing any actual PL on these days. I pretty much come home (or run errands after work...shopping for groceries at 7 am is SO nice!), go to sleep, wake up and try to become a person again (with the help of delicious coffee), walk the dog, get some fresh air, leave for work and do it all over again! I have continued to take photos, enjoy life, and journal so that way when I have my 7 off I can catch up! I have not yet done Week 9 thru Week 11 so those will be on my PL to do list!   By the way, I made a trip out to Ikea and got some things to keep organized! I also sent out my Secret Sister package (I am in a PL Secret Sisters Swap group) and received mine as well!! I will post photos later, gotta get back to the grind! But I can't write a blog post and not include photos, it feels naked, so here are some LOL!

This Week's Happy Mail!! YaY!!!

First seven off

Week 8 is done! I got them done over a week ago but I've been busy working on my new schedule (830pm - 7am) and adjusting to being home and work at different hours so I haven't been blogging much or Project Life-ing much....but that is also because I am caught up! Yay! On my new schedule I work 7 days on and then get 7 days off!! I will most definitely have more PL and blogging time on my days off from work....and time to make memories!

Products used:
Becky Higgins Love Theme Pack cards on page 1, Freckled Fawn - February Oh Deer Me kit embellishments on both pages and Studio Calico cards from either Jan or Feb (can't remember which) on page 2

I have already started with a bang! My grandma picked me up and we drove over 7 hours to come visit my sister in Lubbock. My mom flew in from CO and all the girls are together! My sister has a big event that she is doing for class and we came to support her. Its a mardi gras theme! I am planning on taking tons of photos! I am so happy to be with family and blessed that this event happenned to fall on my days off!

Have a great week!

Hi everyone! This week I was inspired by some washi tape that I got for only 97 cents! 2 rolls! So my color scheme this week was orange and gray. I picked these beauties up this week from Joann and also got some alphas! Everything for only $7.77! I used my gift card from Valentine's day because I'm supposed to be on a spending freeze...I'll talk about that later!

Mint & Sunflower

Week 4 is done! I was kinda putting this week off because I have hardly any photos...and it seems like a long time ago (Jan 20-26) but I made it work and I'm proud of it! Every time I finish a spread, I think "this is my favorite!". But then I create another week and fall in love with that one, too. Project Life, I'm so happy to have found you! It feels so warm & fuzzy returning to the scrapbooking world and I feel so blessed to be a part of this community of Project Life-rs. I have been spending alot of time in multiple Project Life facebook groups and on The Pocket Source soaking up so much inspiration and creative ideas! Everyone is so friendly and positive!

A few awesome things
about the PL online community:
1) Swaps. There is a whole fb group dedicated to this! You can find others who are looking for what you've got and swap for things you'd like. I swapped a 1/3 of my Maggie Holmes kit this week and can't wait to get my swap in the mail soon. I like the idea of swapping because I am budgeting my crafty spending, but you can also shop, too. Click below to visit! These are closed groups so you will have to ask to join!

2) Participate in an RAK. Random act of kindness. You send a random person goodies & you're on the list for someone to send some to you! I think this is great way to recycle/share things that you may not particularly like from a kit that you may have received and also to be nice and make someone's day! Alot of people are making their own 4x6 and 3x4's. I think that is great because they are truly unique! I got on a RAK list through the facebook group Project Lifers.

3) Learn! I have found a really cool website called The Pocket Source. It is a social network for pocket style scrapbooking. When you join, you will have a page that shows your activity feed, photos, & comment wall. The gallery allows you to share photos of your scrapbook pages and also to see & comment on other beautiful pages from pocket style scrapbookers from around the world! There are forums where you can submit questions and also a blog which will have product reviews! I think it's a pretty website, too. Check out The Pocket Source below!

Here are my week 4 pages!
I used most of the embellishments from the Studio Calico February Sugar Rush kit (which is super duper cute!) and my cards were mostly from the Becky Higgins Maggie Holmes core kit with a few SC and WRMK cards thrown in there.

Is anyone else eyeing the Ikea Raskog cart? Thanks to the many who are sharing how they use it to organize their PL supplies!

BTW, I have a 1/3 of the Maggie Holmes kit if anyone would like to swap! Just leave a comment below!

Have a wonderful week yall!

How and Why

I want to share how I prepare photos for my Project Life pages. There are many ways/techniques/resources that many of us Project Life-rs do to get things done, but I thought maybe I could offer some insight to others who may be like myself (new to Project Life and have been out of the scrapbooking world for about 8 years) but mostly to create an opportunity for others to share tips and ideas. I kinda feel like I'm still doing things a little old school, and that's OK because one of the beautiful things about PL is that there isn't a right way or wrong way!

Here are a few reasons why I PL the way I do:
1) There is a ton of info out there on which apps to use to create 3x4 photos and text on photos, etc. However, I don't have an iPhone or android phone. I have a Windows based phone. I love it, but the selection of apps aren't great. There isn't a real instagram app, I just discovered the instagram beta app recently. There isn't a Collect or Picframe. (Actually there are a few fake picframe apps but I can't get them to work.) So what I've been doing is printing my photos at CVS photo and creating a 4 x 6 collage with 2 photos. They are 2.5 x 3, but I kind of like how the 3 x 4 cards create a nice frame for the photos. If you have a windows based phone/tablet and know of some apps that allow you to make a 4 x 6 with two 3 x 4 photos in it...please share! I would love you forever!

 photo b4aed316-ebfb-434c-b4a5-3cfc9d59d16a.jpg

2) I don't have a photo printer because I haven't found a need for one...Yet! Maybe after a few months of PL I will :). I don't feel the need to print at home because I "batch" my photos together for a few weeks so I can order them at CVS/Walgreens and get a good deal! I got 50 - 4 x 6 photos, and 6 - 4 x 6 collage prints (which equals 12 - 2.5 x 3 photos once they are cut) for $6.86! So that's around 11 cents before tax! I haven't tried the online photo printing websites because I'd rather pick them up same day!

 photo 47215953-24e0-4543-9051-b11eee09abf9.jpg

3) Batching photos means I don't do PL on a weekly basis. That is probably why I am on Week 5, not on Week 7. I'm getting caught up! I promise!

So, if you have any ideas or think I could do something differently or more efficiently let me know in the comments! Thanks for stopping by and seeing how I get my photos ready for PL!

In my last post I talked about how my Project Life supplies are pretty much non exisistent right now. I realized this is a good thing because now that I am new to PL, I need (and can't wait!) to accumulate my PL stash!!! I think that having a variety of creative options is half the fun of creating your pages! So I am sharing what I got!

I ordered some pretty things from SP and Company:
